What is RMEC?

RMEC is an independent English school dedicated to teaching English as a Second Language. We are a small school with a few classrooms, skilled teachers, and a great desire to create an amazing and unique immersion experience for our students. Our students, our teachers, and our location are our greatest assets.

Who started RMEC?

Hi, my name is Jared Smith and I am the founder of The Rocky Mountain English College. I have taught ESL in Canada and Central America. My education includes an Advanced TESOL certificate from the Global TESOL Institute and a TESL Diploma from VIA Victoria recognized by TESL Canada.

Having lived and worked abroad, I know the challenges of learning a second language and living in a new culture. From my personal experience, learning needs to be interactive and engaging to be effective. This is why our program includes activities on a regular basis. Everyone at RMEC wants to help you learn English and explore Canada. I look forward to meeting you!

When can I start?

RMEC is open to students from May to August. This is the best season for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and canoeing. This is also a perfect chance to study English before attending a Canadian University or while on a working holiday.
